Coalbroookdale Italian Cast Iron
Reproduced by Lost Art to match an original Coalbrookdale Foundry design. An excellent example of the Victorian tradition of decorative and figurative art with symbolic aspects. The castings feature both stylised elements along with the features of a dog’s head, a coiled serpent and a bunch of grapes. Produced and installed by Lost Art in a number of heritage locations, the bench can be produced to virtually any length and we offer the inclusion of seating and back slats in either timber or cast iron to match the 19th century versions.
Historically, the majority of benches with cast iron slats were exported to the colonies as the timber slats were much more susceptible to termites than they were back in the UK!
