The commission to produce and install a full replication of a MacFarlane, Saracen Foundry bandstand to replace the missing original presented a number of challenges for Lost Art.
Although we could identify the majority of the components from sources such as our library of MacFarlane catalogues, examination of other historic evidence, such as photographs and postcards showed that the bandstand also had a number of unique features.
Working with our wood carver, pattern maker and partner foundry, we were able to produce an exact replica of the original.
